DIE-HARD FANS DIE HARD
During its existence, Mortal Kombat as a franchise has been produced #1 in every medium in the world. Midway has dropped many Mortal Kombat best sellers, while the movies have both opened up #1. Slap on the #1 selling techno album of all time and a few more #1's in home video and TV, and you've got yourself one of the biggest entertainment franchises ever (right behind Star Wars and Batman in the top 5). What ingredient do you need to build all this success? The best, most aggressive, passionate and creative fans in the world.
Mortal Kombat has the best fan following around, with the numbers to prove it. During long droughts and misleading gossip, MK fans have stuck by their product. Since the early 1990's, we've kept an extremely loyal fan base that now years later anticipates the 5th game to a gaming masterpiece. Who do you think won the "Streetfighter - Mortal Kombat rivalry"? It's because of MK fans' necessity for a Mortal Kombat fix, which they scour the Internet, message boards and chat rooms for until the information desired is obtained. And, when some information can't be found, we don't just sit there and wait, we predict and create our own information.
Due to the aggressive nature of the video games and the theme of empowerment for the live-action productions, fans have also learned not to take any crap. They will defend MK without question, quickly weeding out non-believers from their communities. And in these communities, MK fans humbly correct all inaccurate information.
Organizing petitions, finding hidden game kodes, building countless fan sites, even writing movie scripts. In the realm of Mortal Kombat there are no boundaries, and this is a fact that has spread to the MK fans themselves. Of course one thing MK fans, and die hard fans in general will never learn: to be patient.
So if you haven't already, take some time out and pat yourselves on the back, you are the reason why Mortal Kombat is such a big success, and why it has survived the test of time. And it's because of these fans "Mortal Kombat 5" and the third feature film will be huge successes.

Until Next Time,
